Hood is the unveiling of what society deems as "unprofessional", "less than", and "dangerous" to illuminate the true royalty behind Black culture. People often look at low socio-economic predominantly Black communities as "the hood" and less than. Black culture and the creativity it exudes are too often overlooked, but not in Hood. Hood is changing the definition and connotation associated with the terms “ghetto” and “hood” to uplift and connect traditional African histories that support modern Black culture as opposed to its original intention of demoralization. From grills, durags, and chains to Black fashion, photography, and graffiti Hood exemplifies the best of the best. The collaged cover is adorned with a hand drawn graffiti-style wordmark that is published in the Type Elective's Graffiti Concepts zine. The wordmark utilized the traditional elements of graffiti as well as the spiralized style that is at the forefront of kvc studios' visual fingerprint.
